Fenix+ 3 application allows you to import floor plans into your projects, which significantly speeds up the process of creating the building topology.
You can import the file that contains a plan only onto the previousely selected floor of the building.
To import a floor plan do the following:
- Right-click the name of a floor in the project tree, and in the menu that opens, select Import.
{width=50%}
- In the window that opens, select a plan file and click OK.
The application supports importing floor plan files of the following formats: DWG, DXF. Import of basic geometric primitives is only supported from files saved in a format compatible with Autocad 2010 and earlier versions. Proxy objects contained in the files are not imported. Object elevation data and other 3D parameters are not transferred.
- In the dialog box that opens, select the object measurement unit, that was used when creating the plan, and click Accept.
{width=50%}
As a result, the following window opens.
{width=80%}
In the left part of the window is a preview area that displays the contents of the selected floor plan file. On the right side of the window, there are control elements, which are used to select layers and types of imported objects.
- In the Objects list, select types of objects you want to import.
By default, all available object types are imported into the project.
- In the Layers list, select layers. If necessary, for each imported layer, set the desired height (m) and specify the color of its objects.
Using the additional Move, Zoom and View All tools you can scale up any plan area for viewing.
To import a plan as an underlay, check the Import as image option. In this case, objects and layers are not imported.
- To finish the import, click Import.
As a result, the floor plan file content is imported into the project on the selected floor. Once the import is complete, the application informs you about the number of imported objects.
{width=30%}
All imported objects are presented on the scene with 3 cm thick walls.
If there are any objects located on the selected floor (the floor is not empty), then the imported objects will be added to the existing ones.
When importing a floor plan as an image, there is a chance that the application may incorrectly determine the scale of the underlay. Therefore, after completing the import, you need to check and, if necessary, adjust the scale of the image using the Ruler tool.
