Evacuation Simulation
Fire dynamics simulation
The fire dynamics simulation leverages the Fire Dynamics Simulator (FDS) software, developed by the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST).
Fenix+ automatically sets up the scene for FDS. It partitions the area into cells, and adjusts for the presence of multiple calculation areas within the scene.
Fenix+ is not just a preparatory tool for FDS. Before processing the scene with FDS, you can work with real-world objects like walls, doors, and windows in Fenix+.
Objects created in the scene are converted into the format compatible with FDS.
Fenix+ incorporates the majority of FDS capabilities. For details, please see the technical user's manual.
Based on the results of the year 2022, MST Company received the Boris Stock Award
Represented by Technical Director Evgeny Lyubimov, MST was honored with the Boris Stock Award for discovering an error in the Fire Dynamics Simulator (FDS), which is used in the Fenix+ 3 application for calculating fire risk.
Master Plan
The master plan is a specialized scenario component that establishes the spatial arrangement of buildings and other elements relative to each other, as well as their orientation to the cardinal directions.
For example, this tool enables the calculation of heat flow between objects and supports other types of simulation.
Evacuation simulation
Fenix+ simplifies the evacuation time calculation because you don’t need to segment a building into parts. It allows for unrestricted movement in all directions. You only need to specify obstacles for people to navigate around.
This approach aligns with the Building Information Modeling (BIM) concept, elevating evacuation simulation for architecturally complex structures to a new level.
The model for simulating people movement incorporates several key aspects:
- People automatically seek the shortest path to an exit
- People navigate around obstacles in their path
- People avoid collisions with each other
- Evacuation routes prioritize less crowded exits
- Specific exits can be designated for use by certain groups
- Any exit routes for individuals can be defined
In Fenix+, custom people profiles with distinct physical and movement characteristics can also be created, offering tailored simulation options
ASET/RSET Analysis
Fenix+ enables the analysis of simulation results through both calculated values and visual representations, covering:
- Dangerous fire factors
- Evacuation timing for each registering device
- Evacuation flow density maps
With Fenix+, you can compare the evacuation timing from each registering device against its blocking time. All data is automatically updated, ensuring access to the most current information.
What our customers say
Unique approach to project management
Fenix+ 3 offers versatile project management capabilities for creating and editing fire scenarios.
A scenario includes multiple components: geometry, evacuation, and fire. Combining these components, you can create various scenario configurations.
There's no need to constantly develop a new building model — existing scenarios can be adapted with slight alterations.
