The Doorway tool allows you to place one or several doorways on the wall.
You can draw a doorway for the following shape walls: straight wall, polyline, rectangle, circle, and arc. For details, see Wall.
To place a doorway on a wall, the height, width, and lower level of this doorway must be such that it fits within the wall.
To activate the Doorway tool, click the button.
To place a doorway, do the following:
- Press the LMB to select the wall on which you need to place the doorway. The selected wall becomes transparent.
- Move the mouse pointer to choose the desired location for the doorway. Press the LMB to lock the doorway on its place.
- If you need to place several doorways on the wall, repeat the previous step to place the other doorways.
- Press the RMB to deselect the wall. The wall returns to its original opacity.
After placing the doorway, the tool remains active. You can repeat steps 1-3 to place doorways on other walls.
Before the doorway is locked in place, you can change the location of the base point (edge - middle - edge) used when positioning the doorway on the wall. To do this, press the Space button while positioning the doorway.

You can set the doorway parameters before, during and after placing the doorway on the scene.
In the Fenix+ 3 application, a doorway can have the following properties:
-
Is blocked - people cannot evacuate through the doorway.
-
With a registering device - there is a Registering Device in the location of the doorway. The wall mounting height of the registering device is 1.7 meters from the lower level of the doorway and the registering device covers the entire doorway.
You can block doorways to change the direction of human traffic flow. It is highly not recommended to block doorways by placing obstacles in them as well as in front of them, such as other objects, for example, walls, solids. This can lead to the simulation ending with a Looping status.
For more information, see Problems that May Occur During the Simulation of People Evacuation.
Doorways with different properties differ in appearance. The picture below shows the appearance of doorways with different properties in the application.
